Promiti Phukan
Academy Head, and piano educator
Ms. Promiti Phukan is one of the finest pianists and among the most renowned piano teachers of Assam. Ms. Phukan started taking her lessons under the able tutelage of Mr. Rajeshwar Bardoloi at the tender age of 5. Between 2000 and 2002, she continued her studies in piano at the Good Shepherd Convent, in Bangalore.
Having completed 8 grades from the Trinity College of Music, London, Ms. Phukan has been teaching the piano for almost 20 years now. The fact that her students do brilliantly every year in the Trinity College, London exams stand testimony to Ms. Phukan's teaching prowess.
With performances across Guwahati, Assam and the North east with leading bands as an accompanist, she has also performed for the Doordarshan Kendra as well as All India Radio, besides a number of public events. As a soloist, she had the privilege of performing for none other than the President of India, Mrs. Pratibha Patil in the year 2010.
Ms. Promiti Phukan single-handedly organizes a biennial musical extravaganza ‘Cadenza’ highlighting her talented students. The sole intention of organizing this highly acclaimed concert is to showcase the budding talents and provide them a platform. With performances by distinguished national and international guest artists such as Nise Meruno, Girish Pradhan, Thunglamo Nguille, Rittique Phukan, Sunita Bhuyan, Pritisha Kalita, Ronojit Chaliha, her teacher Rajeshwar Bardoloi, and by herself, ‘Cadenza’, over the years with five successful editions, has been a 'must go-to event' for every music lover.
Promiti also formed a 4 piece band called ‘The Piano Affair’. The band covers iconic pop and rock classics using just the piano as the centerpiece. She has been involved in numerous musical projects as an infdependent artist. Besides, Promiti, along with her students have produced cover videos of two iconic songs- Bohemian Rhapsody, and We are the World featuring popular singer Papon.

Prayashi Bora
Piano Educator
Prayashi Bora is a pianist and music educator based out of Guwahati. She has been playing the piano for more than a decade and has completed her Grade 8 examinations in Piano from Trinity College of Music, London. She has been mentored by renowned pianist, Promiti Phukan. Her association with music started at the age of eight when she was tutored in Hindustani Classical Music, and went on to complete Visharad under Bhatkhande.
As a soloist, she has performed in Dubai's Bihu Fest, and several concerts in the local circuit. Having been active with several bands of Guwahati, she has been associated as a pianist with bands like Stainless, Colossal Corp, Mute Garage, Bottle Rockets India, and The Piano Affair. With Stainless and Mute Garage, her band has won several music competitions and fests like the Alcheringa Raga High organised by IIT Guwahati, Ungplugged by Metropolis, and Future Sound of Music.

Writam Changkakoti
Keyboard Teacher
An extremely gifted and talented musician, Writam Changkakoti is a multi-instrumentalist. Born visually impaired, he started playing the tabla and earned the visharad degree at the age of 12. He went on to learn the keyboard and accordion from Late Partha Pratim Choudhury and the piano from Promiti Phukan.
Writam has won the hearts and love of thousands of people by introducing his debut album”Writam’s Jyoti” in the year 2005. He had also launched his second album “Black Shining” in the year 2006, introducing himself also as a composer. Moreover, he had scored the background music for a short feature film “Roses may not be Red”, and the film was awarded the Rainbow award in 2007, in Kolkata.
Today, Writam plays with multiple bands and is also part of the popular Shankuraj Konwar and project Bartalap. Besides being a performer, Writam also devotes his time in teaching. He is also a music programmer and has worked on multiple prestigious projects in Mumbai with reputed recordist Mr. Jatin Sharma.
Among his multiple accolades, a few worth mentioning are a special scholarship from New Delhi based Centre for Cultural Resources and Trainings, the ‘Jyoti Award’ for tabla by the Governor of Assam, and the ‘Young Achievers Award’ by Oil India Limited, Guwahati.

Gorisha Nath
Vocal Coach
Gorisha Nath is a performer, sessionist, vocal arranger, and vocal trainer. She has been singing since the age of 14 with reputed bands of the northeast such as ‘Anonymous Cult’, ‘Moonwind’, ‘Friends’, and many more. With the experience that she has gathered over time, her singing style has diversified into multiple genres, from rock to RnB, soul to smooth jazz , and pop to Bollywood, performing in numerous clubs and venues all across India as well as abroad. Gorisha’s advent into Bollywood happened in 2005 when she bagged the role of the vocal designer for the movie ‘Zindagi Rocks’. Since then there has been no looking back. Performing in various Bollywood movies, ad films, as well as music albums, Gorisha has carved a niche for herself in the world of music. She has also been the female vocalist of the band Bombay Vikings since 2011.
Among her numerous achievements, a noteworthy project was being a part of the United Nations’ anti-aids campaign in the northeast. She has also performed in a concert in England in the presence of the Lord Mayor of London. She had the privilege of performing at the prestigious Sydney Town Hall, and also had the opportunity to be one of the singers for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Her most recent accomplishment was working as the vocal designer for the MTV Unplugged Season 8, alongside artists like Amit Mishra, Shahid Mallya, Neeti Mohan, Jonita Gandhi, Arjun Kanungo,etc. She is a signed artist with DISNEY and has been a part of projects like The Lion King and Team Kaylie.

Kailash Sarma
Guitar Mentor
Playing the six-stringed instrument has been his passion since his childhood though it took shape and direction only when he started taking lessons at a local music school. A distinction holder, Kailash Sarma has completed Grade 8 from the Rock School of London. Today, Kailash Sarma is known as one of the finest guitarists of Assam collaborating with top artists be it on stage, in music videos, or in recording studios. An All India Radio-approved artist, Mr. Sarma has indeed come a long way in a short frame of time from his humble beginnings to performing in global arenas like Dubai, apart from various national-level platforms over the years.
With initial lessons with Rajen Harazrika and thereafter with veteran guitarist Aniruddha Baruah, Mr. Kailash Sarma’s major breakthrough came about in the ‘India Rocks India’ reality contest in 2010. The instrumentalist has also been a part of major rock bands such as Antigen, Voodoo Child, SKD, and more performing across the country. As an accompanying guitarist, Mr. Sarma has arranged music for several albums by reputed artists like Santa Uzir, Zubeen Garg, Anindita Paul, Sangeeta Borthakur to name a few, besides sharing the stage with Bollywood bigwigs like Shaan, Hariharan, Usha Uthup, and Mahalakshmi Iyer, garnering accolades from one and all. Mr. Kailash Sarma has won several awards and achievements including Best Lead Guitarist in several rock competitions organized by reputed institutes such as IIT and GMCH, Guwahati.
